In the current technological landscape, seamless collaboration and communication aren’t choices anymore; they are essential drivers of business success. Organizations worldwide are recognizing the need for integrated solutions that not only streamline operations but also enhance security and productivity.
The customer, a global leader in the chemicals industry, sought to revamp their ecosystem and set new standards of collaboration, security, and cost-efficiency with Noventiq and Microsoft 365. Let's take a look at their transformative journey.
A Life Sciences Leader Embracing the Modern Workplace
The customer is a frontrunner in the manufacturing of fine chemicals and crop protection products. With a rich history and a commitment to innovation, the customer has established itself as a leading player in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, and specialty chemicals sectors.
Headquartered in Mumbai, India, the company operates on a global scale with a diverse portfolio that reflects its dominance and expertise in this industry.
“At Noventiq, we believe in transforming businesses by leveraging cutting-edge solutions. This project was an opportunity to enable the customer to modernize their ecosystem while enhancing security, data protection, and collaboration, reinforcing the importance of unified solutions in today's dynamic business landscape.” - Kiran Babu, Director - Solution Sales, Noventiq India.
Prior to the project, the prominent life sciences organization was using a legacy platform as its primary emailing and communications system. While robust, the need for comprehensive email security, identity and access management (IAM), device management, etc. was substantial.
Setting up separate, dedicated solutions to fulfill these needs can be cumbersome, expensive, and can require larger, highly specialized teams.
The customer turned to Noventiq for a more powerful and unified solution: Microsoft 365. In collaboration with their IT team, Noventiq crafted a plan to modernize and transform their ecosystem seamlessly, with minimal downtime or loss of data.
Azure AD Connect was implemented to integrate the customer’s on-premises identity system with Azure AD, enabling end-users to have a single identity to access both on-premises and cloud-based services, facilitating seamless connection to M365.
The task was significant – 1,100 users and their mailboxes were migrated from the legacy platform to the Office 365 tenant owned by the customer while implementing security policies in their O365 environment. The average mailbox size was 15GB per user.
Bundled services like Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Office Pro Plus were deployed with the help of their IT team. Microsoft Exchange Online Protection (EOP), a cloud-based email filtering service, was also implemented to enhance email security.
Noventiq also worked with the customer to identify sensitive information, create policies based on specific keywords, and validate those policies for effective Data Loss Prevention (DLP). They also opted for Azure AD Premium P1 that enabled robust Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Device Management across their ecosystem.
This project was completed within a span of two-and-a-half-months.
The Impact
The shift from a legacy email platform with limited security and management capabilities to Microsoft Office 365 had a substantial impact for the customer. Now, they could potentially save up to 50% on capital expenditures and operating expenses.
