Background
ABBYY's business development strategy required the modernization of its internal IT infrastructure using Microsoft cloud services. All existing software licenses had to be taken into account when upgrading. To analyze the current state of the IT infrastructure, inventory reconciliation of the deployed software and the entire computer fleet, ABBYY turned to the leader of the high-tech market – Noventiq.
Solution
Noventiq experts have prepared professional recommendations for the customer, allowing the most effective modernization of the IT infrastructure. In particular, the company's experts helped ABBYY make the most of the available licenses for Microsoft products, including Office 365.
When implementing SAM Infrastructure Optimization, ABBYY, together with Noventiq experts, expanded the use of Microsoft Azure cloud platform for geographically distributed teams. For example, using Azure DevOps Services, which is licensed per developer, allows them to integrate source control, data collection, reporting, status tracking, and project change tracking.
The specifics of ABBYY's activities do not allow downtime due to unavailability of the data center. Power outages and other potential accidents should not result in the loss of critical data or test/development results. To maintain business continuity and reliable data protection, Noventiq recommended that the customer consider a replication and backup solution – Azure Disaster Recovery.
Results
“We have successfully implemented our second SAM project with Noventiq. This allowed us to obtain a full-fledged conclusion on the level of organization of our current IT infrastructure and track the dynamics of its optimization using Microsoft cloud services,” said Igor Bulanov, head of the Operation and support of infrastructure services at ABBYY.
“The use of Microsoft cloud services will help ABBYY stay in control of the current and future costs of maintaining the IT infrastructure and create a comfortable environment for teamwork of its specialists,” Tatiana Eliseeva, an IT consultant at Noventiq, noted the advantages of using cloud services.
