In an era defined by digital transformation, a prominent player in the automotive and industrial sectors embarked on a journey to modernize its operations and fortify its digital infrastructure.
Faced with the objective of enhancing productivity, streamlining operations, and bolstering data security, this leading conglomerate sought the expertise of Noventiq to facilitate its transition to Microsoft's cloud ecosystem.
Fueling Innovation in Energy and Mobility
Founded in 1985, this multinational company is active in various industries, including automotive components, industrial batteries, and power systems. Operating on a robust on-premises structure, they aimed to expand their cloud footprint by migrating 3,500 users to Microsoft 365, setting up a hybrid infrastructure to enhance efficiency, reinforce security, and ensure compliance.
Harnessing Microsoft 365 for Modern Business Transformation
Ahead of this transformation plan, the conglomerate had already begun their customer journey with Noventiq. Our tech experts had previously completed the deployment of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint for 3,500 users. Having found the collaboration smooth and productive, the conglomerate decided that Noventiq would be their ideal partner to fulfil their migratory requirements. Noventiq, after analysing the customer’s needs in detail, devised a comprehensive approach tailored to address each aspect of the process.
The Microsoft 365 journey with the manufacturing giant began with a thorough assessment of their existing infrastructure, workloads, and business objectives. Based on the assessment results, we developed a detailed migration roadmap that aligned with the conglomerate's business goals.
Upon procuring the requisite licenses for Microsoft 365, in alignment with their user profiles and usage patterns, a phased migration approach was executed, enabling migration of 3,500 users from the on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
Azure Entra ID was implemented across the Microsoft 365 environment. User identities from on-premises Active Directory 2019 were synchronized to Entra ID using Azure AD Connect, streamlining identity and access management for the client’s users.
Additionally, Noventiq facilitated the migration of legacy file shares and intranet sites to SharePoint Online, centralizing document management, version control, and team collaboration in the cloud.
Finally, a phased adoption approach that included comprehensive training to educate employees on the features and functionalities of Microsoft 365 ensured smooth change management.
The Impact
The migration yielded substantial business benefits:
-
Cost-Effectiveness: Moving to a cloud-based solution eliminated the need to own and maintain on-premises servers and storage infrastructure, reducing capital expenditure and operational overhead.
-
Compliance: The implementation of Archival and Litigation Hold within Microsoft 365 enabled the conglomerate to meet regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
-
Enhanced Security: With built-in threat protection, identity management, and data loss prevention capabilities, Microsoft 365 helps defend against cyber threats and protect sensitive information across diverse endpoints.
-
Improved Productivity: Enhanced collaboration through Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive has improved workforce productivity, driving business continuity and competitiveness.
