The customer, a global logistics conglomerate headquartered in Mumbai, India, and operating in 180 countries with revenues exceeding USD 2.6 billion, engaged Noventiq to embark on their digital and cloud transformation journey.

With a focus on future-proof, flexible, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure aligned with the highest standards of data integrity and security, the customer's IT team was seeking to invest in their next phase of technology.

Noventiq, a trusted partner in digital transformation, used Microsoft 365 (M365) to standardize the customer's IT environment and migrate their workloads to Microsoft Azure. The partnership resulted in a cost-effective and efficient solution that aligned with the end-state referential architecture.

Key Drivers for Change

The customer's IT infrastructure operated on a distributed data center architecture, which presented challenges in keeping hardware and software up to date. They sought a reliable, scalable, secure, and flexible solution with a pay-as-you-go model to avoid upfront CAPEX investments.

This project followed a time-critical path and addressed the following business imperatives:

The Noventiq Solution

As part of a data center transformation project in Australia and South Africa, Noventiq assisted in migrating 120 critical servers and 30+ database servers within a 12-hour window, helping the customer's IT team achieve their vision.

Noventiq and the customer also implemented Disaster Recovery (DR) within Azure for both regions, ensuring compliance with backup requirements. Bastion services were deployed to provide individual user access to machines, and Azure services were utilized to enhance flexibility and scalability. The customer's IT team approved various technologies, including Azure Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, VPN Gateway, Azure ExpressRoute, Azure Backup, and Azure Site Recovery. By leveraging these technologies, Noventiq improved performance, automated backups, and provided robust and reliable service."

The customer partnered with Noventiq to migrate to the M365 solution, which offers best-in-class productivity apps, enterprise mobility, MDM, etc. along with online meetings, web-conferencing, voice, and video.

The goal of this continuous improvement effort is to provide employees with a better collaboration and productivity platform while enhancing the customer experience through integrated workflows with other Microsoft products (D365 CRM and F&O).

The implementation of M365 E3 provides the customer with unified communication, mobile device management, and enhanced security, reliability, and scalability. This allows the company's IT team to focus on other organizational initiatives such as cloud-based applications and modernization efforts.
